Put an API layer on top of a service, provision a phone number from Twilio, and connect the number to that API layer.
The idea is useful where a full app is too much surface area. A person could text a number to query something practical, such as an OpenAI workflow, a Cal Fire status endpoint, or any narrow service that benefits from quick, low-friction access.
